Europe

The myth of Europe gave its name to the continent, which for the Greeks represented the Western lands.

In Greek mythology Europe was Phoenician princess, and Jupiter fell in love with her.

The Cretan myth narrates the story of her abduction by Jypiter in the form of a white bull.

Europe is therefore represented on the bull who kidnaps her. The dynamism of the statue preserves the majesty of the royal maiden.
